What does TPO free mean
TPO stands for Trimethylbenzoyl Diphenylphosphine Oxide
It is a photo initiator previously used in some gel polishes and builder gels. It reacts with UV or LED light to harden or cure the product.
TPO id prohibited in products from the 15th August 2026 in the UK because it is classified as toxic.
This is seperate to HEMA which is associated with skin sensitisation.
